Cultural Enrichment Comes to Vermont

Cultural Enrichment News

A reader in Vermont sent us the following article, and included this note:

Our little experiment in bringing 1,000 Somali refugees to the small, rural state of Vermont is starting to pay dividends. Here is the latest enrichment news.

Note that the age of the little girl who was assaulted is exactly the same as that of Aisha, Mohammed’s favorite wife, when he consummated his marriage with her. This man’s actions were neither illegal nor immoral where he comes from — in fact, they were exemplary, since emulating Mohammed is the highest form of virtue to a Muslim.

As a matter of interest, the perp’s surname (Abdi) means both “slave” and “negro” in Arabic — the word abd has two interchangeable meanings. It’s a reminder of the high regard in which Arabs hold black Africans.

According to The Burlington Free Press:

Ali Abdi Man Sentenced for Burlington Assault

A Burlington man who jumped bail and fled Vermont the night before a jury found him guilty of aggravated sexual assault on a 9-year-old girl was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years to life in prison for the assault

Ali Abdi, a Somali Bantu refugee, was sentenced by Vermont District Judge Patricia Zimmerman.

Chittenden County State’s Attorney T.J. Donovan said the sentence responded to a “horrific crime” against a girl who has “really been ostracized from her community.” The conviction is a deportable offense, Donovan said, but his understanding is that Abdi will likely serve his sentence in a U.S. prison before the federal government brings any deportation action.

Abdi has been in custody since mid-February 2009, when he was captured after two weeks on the run. Authorities traced him to Ann Arbor, Mich., and returned him to Vermont. It’s unclear where Abdi, who is 38 according to Vermont Corrections Department records, will serve out his sentence.

Check out the disgusting argument made by the defense attorney:

"Abdi's lawyer argued that the case has to be viewed as different from others, because Abdi comes from a different cultural background. Erik Smart told the judge that Abdi fled Somalia and spent thirteen years in a refugee camp before arriving in Burlington. Smart says the Somali Bantu community has forgiven Abdi.

"I would venture to say this community views this crime differently than our own community would," Smart told the court.

To their credit, the prosecution wasn't buying it. Nice to see some liberals stand up against this sort of cultural BS.

Prosecutor Susan Hardin argued that cultural differences do not excuse a crime.

"It is critical that the Somali Bantu community and all the others in Chittenden County be sent a very clear message: if you sexually assault our children, there will be severe consequences," Hardin said.

In Somalia he would be a hero. In a US prison he will be dead soon. Pedophiles are the lowest form of scum to the men in prison, Muslim or not.

BEWARE OF SOFT SHARIA ENCROACHING:

I am extremely troubled by the phrasing of the prosecutor who allegedly said, "...if you sexually assault our children, there will be severe consequences."

What bothers me here is the unstated concept of "our" children and "their" children - as if "our" children will be protected under American law but "their" Muslim children may fall under Sharia law - Sharia law which, of course, abandons any pretense of protection of women and children against sexual predators (otherwise known as older cousin husbands in polygamous arranged marriages).

This type of distinction has already been made in Britain which reportedly allows community Sharia Courts and Sharia law for the Muslim communities instead of requiring appearances before British courts and British law.

@Egghead - I believe the child was also part of the Somali community.

The girl is 9... Just as Aisha was when Mahound violated her, setting a timeless example of sexual conduct for all black-stone worshippers.

Nonsense!! Simply not true. Sharia arbitration in the UK is no different to the Jewish Beth Din which is best described as binding civil arbitration.

Any criminal matters will be dealt with by the English Criminal law in the courts.

Ray Body, neither the Jewish nor the Muslim separate civil courts should exist.
